We Are Under Attack!

We are under attack! In the past few months we have seen the true face of liberalism. We have seen the very things promised to us in the Declaration of Independence that are guaranteed to us by the Constitution, stripped from each and every American with hardly a whimper by the collective. Sure there have been outcries of constitutional grand larceny by those who are paying attention, but who is really paying attention?
Does the average person on the street know that the bill of rights has passed through a bi-partisan paper shredder in the past few months, and, that we have never seen the likes of this in recent history?
Each time Americans feel they have been dealt a serious injustice or feel they need protection from something they fear, they go running to their legislators to draft a bill to save them all from themselves. Be careful for what you wish for. By erecting legislative walls to preserve your standards of living, you are also limiting your freedoms. Once a lawmaker realizes they have votes behind a popular issue, they will ram it through the system. You had better hope that bill is to your liking or you’ll be losing something important to you.
Abraham Lincoln said, “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
The NDAA which was signed into law on Dec. 31, 2011 authorizes “indefinite detention” of US citizens by federal officers or the military. It also gives them the authority to remove a threat to national security even if that threat is a citizen of the United States. Steve Chabot will tell you this is not true, but haven’t they already done this by taking out al-Awlaki with a missile fired from a drone. Where was due process? Is this any different than what al-Assad is doing to the people of Syria right now?
Several states are drafting legislation to make it illegal for a federal officer to detain a citizen of their state, a crime equal to kidnapping. Utah legislators have unanimously passed this and are now awaiting a signature from the governor. http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2012/03/utah-legislature-unanimously-passes-anti-ndaa-detention-resolution/

The director of the FBI was asked if killing US citizens on US soil was permissible and he said it was unclear whether they had authority to do so. They must not have heard about the 4th Amendment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=Tkx8Grgo0_s
The issue of mandating the providing of contraceptives even though it is against the core values of your religion is under attack. This was mandated by the president and then walked back to a more “palatable compromise” in hopes of the Catholic faith capitulating on the whole issue.
The Anti-Occupy Bill – Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act, although it sounds like a landscaping project, strips us of our 1st Amendment rights. This bill potentially makes peaceable protest anywhere in the U.S. a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal.
Despite the good news the major national media focuses on each night, we cannot lose sight of the economic mess this country still faces. Here is a link with some interesting figures with links to back them up. http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/50-economic-numbers-from-2011-that-are-almost-too-crazy-to-believe
